Short-eared Owls are crepuscular, meaning they are primarily active during twilight hours. However, they are often observed in the late afternoon, creating wonderful viewing opportunities as the sun sets. This Short-eared Owl glided silently over its grassland habitat while hunting for its prey. The direction of the lighting created a glowing effect to the warm browns and golds of the grassland and the outline of the owl.
